Pronouns: They/Them
Hello there! My name is D, and I use They/Them pronouns. I have spent several years dedicated to learning, training, and providing quality mental health care to individuals in the Greater Washington and Baltimore area. My educational background includes a B.S. in Psychology from Towson University and an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Along this journey, I have worked in several positions providing mental health care and social services to the community.
Clinically, I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities across various needs and concerns. I am specifically trained in providing trauma-informed, gender-affirming care for folks across the gender spectrum. I have a passion for working with BIPOC clients of trans, non-binary, genderqueer, and gender-fluid experience. As a member of these communities, I understand the necessity of culturally informed counselors who can also use the Self as a healing agent in the therapeutic space.
My areas of focus include crisis counseling, process & substance addiction counseling, trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, gender dysphoria, transitioning, relationships, and life transitions. I am also trained in and provide Letters of Support for Gender Affirming Surgery to patients seeking this next step in their journey toward authenticity.
I am a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) in Washington, D.C., working under the supervision of Dr. Antoine Crosby. In therapy, I use principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Relational Cultural Theory as vehicles for healing, increasing self-awareness, and positive change.
I am dedicated to providing our diverse community with competent, high-quality, trauma-informed care, tailoring treatment to clients’ needs.
