Welcome! I am Dr. Shepherd, a dedicated therapist who is passionate about supporting individuals from all backgrounds, with a special commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community. I believe that therapy can be a transformative journey, especially when grounded in compassion, understanding, and authenticity. Throughout my career, I’ve had the honor of working with diverse populations, including LGBTQIA+ adolescents, college students, and adults. I am deeply aware of the unique challenges that Queer individuals may face, from navigating identity development and systemic challenges to building fulfilling relationships and finding spaces where one feels seen and valued.
My approach to therapy is collaborative and empowering, designed to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and understood. Using a psychodynamic foundation, we will work together to understand how past experiences and relationships have shaped your current life while focusing on your immediate needs. I am here to explore your narrative alongside you, honoring your resilience and helping you build practical strategies to support your well-being. My hope is for you to leave each session feeling stronger, more self-assured, and most importantly, seen.
Currently, I am working under the supervision of Dr. Antoine Crosby, a licensed clinical psychologist, to ensure you receive the highest quality of care. I believe in lifelong learning and regularly seek new ways to deepen my understanding and advocacy for the community. I’m here to support you fully, with warmth and respect, as you move toward healing, growth, and self-acceptance.
I look forward to walking with you on your unique journey!
