Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Supervisor

In treatment, I utilize a culturally informed approach and strive to create a space where you are free to be your unapologetic, authentic self and ensure your experiences are honored, affirmed, and handled with care. Additionally, I utilize a theoretical approach that explores the influence of early relationships on current functioning. In each therapy relationship, I collaborate with clients to gain insight into their unique experiences and how these experiences contribute to the current distress experienced.

Throughout training, I have been afforded the opportunity to work with individuals from culturally diverse backgrounds. These experiences have helped me establish clinical specialties to include LGBTQ+, BIPOC, HIV/AIDS, and other marginalized groups. Further, I recognize that these lived experiences may cause feelings of anxiety, worry, stress, depression, isolation, and loneliness, among other feelings.

Additionally, my clinical work is informed by my research, which focuses on examining the intersection of ethnic, religious, and sexual minority identities among Black men who have sex with other men (BMSM), and how these intersections impact their mental, spiritual, emotional, and physical health and wellness. As such, my clinical specialties also include working through and healing from Queer, Racial, and Religious Trauma(s).

Outside of clinical work and research, I facilitate presentations, guest lectures, workshops, and continuing education trainings designed to educate the general and professional community on the unique challenges BIPOC LGBTQ+ individuals face and best practices when working with these communities. I’ve also been featured on podcasts highlighting the importance of Queer-BIPOC (QBIPOC) mental wellness, collaborated with the Human Rights Campaign to destigmatize mental health among QBIPOC communities, and presently I actively engage in advocacy for the betterment of QBIPOC communities.

I welcome the opportunity to work together and join you in your journey towards healing and restoration.
